“Wicked is Good”. Concluding book 2, Teresa makes this simple announcement that she has actually made before. “WICKED is good” Are they though? So far, I would definitely say the organization is not good by any means, although they seem to have good intentions, going by the philosophy of “the ends justify the means”. After seeing so many of their friends die, and the trials and hazards they have had to go through, why is Teresa so convinced of this?
As with The Maze Runner , I read, actually, listened to The Scorch Trials by audiobook during my commute. While at times I found myself zoning out and missing sections, overall I prefer listening to this series rather than reading it. I found myself wanting the narration to go quicker so that I would know what was happening. Which is a good thing that I was listening instead of reading so that I could not skip ahead on sections.
So far, Minho and Thomas are still my favorite characters with Teresa still being my least favorite. While I do not think she is evil, I still don’t have a high opinion regarding her. I would rather see Thomas be with Brenda personally. Although one of the things I do love about this story is that James Dashner barely focuses on any relationship and prefers to keep things platonic which is ideal for me.
The real question for this book is…..do they really have the Flare or is it another trick? They were able to survive the Scorch so what is next for them? Is it really over?
I enjoyed this book very much. While at times I wish there was more detail, and at times I wish there was less, I enjoyed the story and am ready for book 3!
